A WOMAN was hit on the head after she was attacked from behind by a man in Greenham.

A woman in her 40s was walking in Equine Way at around 4.30pm on Wednesday (30) when she was attacked from behind by a man. He hit her on the head before she ran away.

The woman did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC Claire Simpson, from Newbury police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or who saw a distressed woman in the area at the time.

“It is possible that the offender may have followed the victim from the Tesco store along Pinchington Lane and I would appeal to anyone who saw this or who has any details which could assist officers to please contact police.”
