A THREE-year-old greyhound has a taste for the finer things in life and requires his new owners to be fans of the opera.

Dogs Trust Newbury is appealing for a home for Bocelli, and like his famesake, he has an ear for opera and is at his happiest when he is listening to his favourite classical tunes from The Barker of Seville, Le nozzi de Fido and Dog Giovanni.

Nicki Barrow, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Newbury, said: “Lots of dogs find music soothing and for Bocelli, opera is definitely his genre of choice!

"When he first arrived at the Rehoming Centre, he was having a bit of trouble adjusting to his new surroundings but as soon as we introduced him to some operatic classics, Bocelli definitely started to relax.

“Bocelli is a real softie who enjoys the quiet life and when he’s not listening to his favourite operas, he loves nothing more than cuddling up for a snooze on the sofa. Whilst his namesake may love the roar of a captive crowd, Bocelli isn’t keen on too much hustle and bustle so is best suited to a home in a rural location.

"He would make a wonderful family pet in a home with older children who can spend plenty of time lavishing him with lots of attention.”

If you think you could make Bocelli the star of your home, visit the Newbury rehoming centre at Plumb’s Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks RG20 0HR or call the rehoming centre on 0300 303 0292.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cares for nearly 17,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 20 Rehoming Centres in the UK and one in Dublin.
