A cocaine dealer was sentenced to three years in prison at Reading Crown Court on Friday March 18.
George Heap, of Avon Way, Newbury, was amongst a group of young men that ran away from Sargent Damien Isherwood as he patrolled the Nightingales Estates on August 21 last year.
Sgt Isherwood caught Heap, 22, and after accessing information on his mobile phone, found he had connections to suppliers of Class A drugs.
On August 26 Heap was arrested after a search of his home retrieved £1,710 in cash and a small amount of cannabis.
Investigating officer Sgt Damien Isherwood, from Newbury police station, said: "Thames Valley Police is committed in the fight against drugs.
“We will work closely with the Crown Prosecution Service and all partner agencies to prosecute those who deal drugs. Drug dealers target the vulnerable and spread misery.
"Heap has three years now to reflect upon his actions. We need the community's help in catching those who deal drugs so if you have any information please call the non emergency telephone number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
George Heap was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for being concerned in supplying class A controlled drugs and one month imprisonment for possession of cannabis, which will run concurrently.
