AN ALDERMASTON woman is preparing to take the plunge in a bid to raise money for a school’s swimming pool appeal.
Living up to her name, Debbie Fish will swim 6km on the Aune Estuary in Devon on Saturday (July 2).
It is the first of four open water events she is taking part in as she raises money for the Mary Hare School Sink or Swim campaign.
She said: “I have always felt drawn to water from childhood through to my adult life and I have loved the amazing experiences that being able to swim have given me; whether whizzing along slides at water parks, riding the waves in the sea or having fun in open water lakes with the fish and eels!”
Ms Fish will also dive in to two separate events on July 16th and 17th, totalling 8.2km, followed by the final 5km swim in September.
All the money raised by Ms Fish will go towards renovating the school’s swimming pool.
