A WOMAN has been sentenced to 28 days in prison after stealing yoghurt and chocolates and breaching her anti-social behaviour order, a court heard.

Amanda Futcher entered the Co-Op on Pound Street, Newbury at 9:30am on February 12 and took yoghurt and chocolates without paying for them.

The 34-year-old was identified on CCTV and arrested on Tuesday 24.

On February 15, Fletcher breached her anti-social behaviour order, which was granted on April 22 last year by Reading Crown Court, after she attended a BP garage on London Road at around 1am.

At the garage she asked a paramedic for money to get her back to her children in Reading.

Deborah Morton, Police, NHW & Community Messaging Co-ordinator, West Berkshire LPA, said: "The ASBO prevents Futcher from further approaching any person in a public place, retail premises or private residents with the intention of obtaining money and prevents her from remaining in any shop or commercial premises if asked to leave by staff."

She was arrested on February 24 and charged the same day.

She was remanded in custody to appear in court on February 25.

Futcher, of Newtown Road, admitted to the offences at Reading Magistrates' Court on February 25.
