The police are appealing for witnesses after a spate of thefts from motor vehicles in Hungerford on Saturday night.

Offenders un-screwed and in some instances forcefully removed aerials from approximately 51 vehicles in Priory Road, Bulpit Lane, Tarrant’s Hill, Orchard Park Close, Parkway and Coldharbour Road.

It is believed the offenders were young, and possibly riding scooters.

PC Claire Drewitt, said: “This appears to be an extremely foolish game or prank that has resulted in a crimes being committed and caused many residents of Hungerford the inconvenience of having to spend money to replace their aerials.

"Some victims feel vulnerable that the offenders walked onto their driveways in order to steal.

“We are continuing our investigations and conducting house to house enquires. Approximately six aerials have been located in garage blocks and front gardens so please check around your property."
