MULTI-AWARD winning four piece blues-rock band King King captivated their fans with an intimate performance at Bowery District on Sunday.

King King took to stage in Reading playing songs from their award winning second album Standing in the Shadows as well as teasing the crowd with songs from their upcoming album Reaching for the Light.

Almost half way through their UK tour, the Glasgow based band showed no signs of slowing down as their energy on stage was mirrored by their audience watching and singing along. Lead vocalist Alan Nimmo, accompanied by bass guitarist Lindsay Coulson, drummer Wayne Proctor and Bob Fridzema on keys captivated their dedicated fans from the beginning of the set to the end.

Songs from their new album enraptured their fans, receiving the same response as their old material. Alan says after: “We’ve had a great crowd reaction, I know tonight’s a smaller venue, but its been amazing, everyone seems to be up for it.” After having played a few songs from their highly anticipated album, the blues-rockers slowed down the tempo and played a track from their second album A Long History of Love. The soulful ballad reflects the powerful vocals from Alan, followed by minutes of mesmerizing instrumental sound.

With the rest of the UK tour ahead of them and the Europeon tour shortly after, the band have a very busy schedule ahead of them. Alan says: “There’s always something to organise or do, even if its down to just driving somewhere and collecting a new batch of t-shirts, because we do all the work ourselves.”
