THATCHAM Town’s outstanding start to the season continued with a 4-0 demolition of Chalfont Wasps in the Hellenic League Challenge Cup on Saturday.

Goals from Danny Lachacz, Lukas Burt, Josh Helmore and Bradley Pagliaroli sealed the win, which came four days after an impressive 2-1 victory at Highworth Town in the Premier Division.

That victory came courtesy of another brace from Marcus Mealing, who slotted a first-half penalty and snatched a 79th-minute winner.

Hungerford Town conceded an injury-time goal in a 3-3 draw at home to St Neot’s Town in the Southern Premier.

The visitors were delayed by traffic, forcing the kick-off to be pushed back an hour until 4pm.

As expected, Saints found it difficult to get going while Hungerford started quickly and established a 2-0 lead.

Bobby Wilkinson’s men took the lead after 15 minutes, Rhys Tyler scoring from a corner.

Hungerford added a second goal after 36 minutes, with a great move by Tyler who played the ball inside for Nat Jarvis to finish.

The game turned after the interval when goalkeeper Paul Strudley brought down Matt Hawkins and Tom Meechan converted the penalty after 56 minutes.

Mitchell King made it 2-2 on 63 minutes only for Harry Goodger to put Hungerford back in front on 83 minutes.

However, after four minutes of injury-time, Jamie Anton fired through a crowd of players to make it 3-3.

Hungerford were knocked out of the FA Cup 2-0 at Bradford Town last Wednesday and were due to visit Chesham United on Tuesday. Wilkinson’s men host Hitchin Town next Monday (7.45pm).
