ASPIRING singers are being urged to join a village choir.
Charvil-based Jewel Tones is hosting an open evening on Sunday, June 29, for 10 to 18-year-old girls, from 6.15-7.45pm, at the village hall in
Park Lane.
Current members come from as far afield as Henley, Maidenhead, Reading and Wokingham, and they have performed at a variety of concerts and festivals since the choir began.
Musical director Suzanne Newman, who was recognised for her dedication to the group by the Woodley and Earley Lions in April, said: “We’ve got a full calendar until summer 2015. All the girls love singing and it’s a dream to work with them.
“We hope we can compete more often, but it’s all about the music.”
There will be informal auditions for those who would like to join the group in July.
