THE Theatre Royal has released an action-packed line up for the winter/spring season with a number of all-time classics set to grace the Thames Street stage.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Agatha Christie Theatre Company, And Then There Were None (January 13-24) will star Olivier Award-winning actor Paul Nicholas as well as Colin Buchanan from Dalziel and Pascoe and Heratbeat’s Jason Durr.

Following that will be Twelve Angry Men (January 27-February 7), fresh from its record-breaking West End run.

Jenny Seagrove will then lead an all-star cast for Noel Coward’s Brief Encounter On Air (February 10-21). Presented in the style of 1940s radio and steeped in romantic glamour the group will perform this radio adaptation of the award-winning 1945 film.

It forms part of the celebrations marking 70 years of the iconic movie.

Following that will be the timeless Edwardian entertainment with a local twist in Three Men In A Boat (February 23-28). Craig Gilbert’s adaptation of Jerome K Jerome’s tale of boating misadventure returns to the UK with The Original Theatre Company bringing a working pub, live piano accompaniment, music hall singing and a dog.

Vienna Fesival Ballet will then return, after their recent performance of Swan Lake, this time with bring Sleeping Beauty (March 3-7).

Next up is a show recenetly voted the nation’s favourite play.

Set in the 1980s, The History Boys (March 9-14), is the story of a group of bright, funny and unruly six-formers in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university.

Dreamboats and Miniskirts (March 16-21) will then delight audiences, returning after a successful run at the Theatre Royal in August.

Next tributes to Elvis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Kate Bush, Michael Jackson and Take That (March 24-28) will delight the crowds along with the music of yesteryear in Windsor’s Old Time Music Hall (March 26).

Then Chess The Musical, set against the backdrop of the Cold War, will show (March 31-April 4).

Shakespeare’s Macbeth (April 7-11) then gets a complete reworking when three drag-queens cook up an explosive brew of treachery, ambition and passion, setting an Asian family off on a path of bloody self-destruction.

The show, by Tara Arts, will star Robert Mountford and Shaheen Khan.

Downton Abbey actor, James Fox, will then appear in Dear Lupin (April 14-18).

It details Roger Mortimer’s often hilarious and sometimes touching, letters to his son Charile. Spanning 25 years, their correspondence forms a memoir of their relationship.

Celebrating 10 years since its arrival, The Deranged Marriage (May 11-16), will return. Rishi and Sona agree to get married in a traditional wedding. However, a forbidden love story starts to unfold.

Following this will be slapstick in the form of Peter Pan Goes Wrong (May 18-23). The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society set out to present J.M. Barrie’s tale but things do not go to plan.

Next up is six players in six weeks by The Windsor Repertory Company.

These will be Pardon Me Prime Minister (May 26-31), Francis Durbridge’s Sweet Revenge (June 2-6), Daphne Du Maurier’s September Tide (June 9-13), Noel Coward’s Hay Fever (June 16-20), Alan Ayckbourn’s Joking Apart (June 23-27) and Amy’s View by David Hare (June 30 - July 4).

On top of this Stand Up By Royal Appointment returns with some of the UK’s finest comedians on February 1 and 22, March 29 and April 26.

Finally, the theatre will have a number of one offs including Kevin Cruise’s Big Fat Cruise Ship Wedding (March 15), Michael Portillo (March 23) and Blake (February 15).
