A 49-year-old man was set to be quizzed by detectives today after a woman was stabbed causing "life threatening injuries" at her home. on Thursday afternoon.
The woman suffered stab wounds to her body and emergency services were called to a house in Robins Hill, Inkpen, between Hungerford and Newbury.
Paramedics treated the injured woman at the house before she was flown by air ambulance to the John Radcliffe, in Oxford.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "Police were called at around 12.20pm to a property in Robins Hill, Inkpen, to a report that a woman had been stabbed.
"The victim, a 48-year-old woman, sustained stab wounds to the body and was airlifted to the John Radcliffe, hospital in Oxford where she is currently being treated for her injuries, described as life threatening.
"The 49-year-old man, who was arrested at the scene, is currently in custody."
