THE family of a cyclist killed in Newbury have paid tribute to a "loving and caring" father whose death has blown a hole in all their lives.

David Babcock was killed after his bike and a van collided in Hambridge Road at around 10.17am on Wednesday last week.

Bouquets and bunches of flowers have been left on the pavement and tied to lampposts beside the scene of the collision where the 53-year-old from Newbury died.

In a statement released today the father-of-three's family paid tribute to the dad, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed.

The statement said: "His three children have paid tribute to a loving, caring father who will be greatly missed and loved always.

"He always had a positive attitude and a great sense of humour."

His sister added: "He was a wonderful brother and uncle and his death will leave a huge hole in our lives.

"We would appreciate privacy to come to terms with our tragic loss."
