A TERRIER had a lucky escape after it fell into an underground tank filled with water near Newbury last night.
A dogwalker and her pet were walking near Hambridge Lane at around 7.30pm when the dog fell through a hole in the ground and into an underground tank.
Firefighters from Newbury rushed to the scene where the animal had managed to get her head and paws out of the hole but was trapped. Using hand tools the crew managed to create an opening and pull the dog to safety.
