POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an assault outside a Newbury bookmakers yesterday morning.
The assault in front of Stan James in Bartholomew Street took place at around 11am on Monday when an 18-year-old man who was walking with a woman was attacked by two other men.
The victim's eye socket was injured, leaving him with a black eye and he required treatment at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
The first offender is believed to be white, 6ft tall, 18-years-old, with brown hair. It is thought he was wearing a dark grey hooded top, dark trousers and white trainers.
The second offender is believed to be white, 5ft 6ins, 17-years-old, with short brown hair. It is thought he was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and white trainers.
